The transition for new students from home to hostel is effortless. Certainly, VMCH & RI which is a part of education conglomerate has read the mind and heart of students in detail that allows them to plan their hostel life hassle-free. The hostels have been designed to provide a comfortable, safe, inclusive and secure living as they provide opportunities to form lasting friendships that ease the transition from home to hostel life. Residential staff is accessible round the clock to support the students from diverse backgrounds to promote community. Living on campus offers students with prospects to:

Hostel review committee meetings are conducted frequently by the hostel administrators to address students’ queries and requirements and to keep them informed on the improvement of services and events. Students are also given the privilege to give suggestions to improve the hostel facilities.

Facilities


VMCH & RI campus has separate hostels for female students, male students, female CRRI and Junior residents and male CRRI and Junior Residents.


Facilities and amenities include:


  • AC (Air-Conditioned) and Non-AC single and shared bed options.
  • Rooms equipped with ergonomically designed furniture which includes a cot,     chair, study table, study lamp, bookshelf, and a cupboard.
  • First aid center, pharmacy, photocopy service, food kiosks, gymnasium (AC &     Non-AC), swimming pool, sports amenities, laundry service, Wi-Fi service,     beauty salon, music band, utility shop and visitor rooms.
  • Residential Counselors, Wardens, Supervisors, maintenance staff and security     guards available 24×7.
  • Security guards to chaperone and safe transit students to and from the     campus to the nearest railway station and bus stop for late night / early hours      of the day.
  • 24 hours water supply and power supply supported by stand-by captive     generators.

Dedicated digital library (Computer center)


VMCH & RI central library has an established digital library to gain access to a wide range of electronic resources available. The dedicated room has sufficient number of computers and seatings made to assure the joy and comfort of learning.

Audio Visual Room

There are audiovisual rooms acoustically designed to enable group study and presentations without disturbing the crowd in the library, following the library discipline.

Support Facilities

For a very nominal fees Photocopying, Printing and Scanning facilities are available inside the library. Jobs will be completed depending on the pending bulk of requests consequently adequate time should be given to the staff.

Personal Reading Room

To do justice to enhanced learning there are personal reading rooms designed with ergonomically configured furniture. These rooms enable a peaceful learning atmosphere and better learning outcomes. Personal textbooks and notebooks are permitted to be taken to this room.

Personal Belongings Room

To enjoy a hassle-free reading experience there is personal belongings room where one can leave all their personal belongings before getting inside the library. This facility is available during the library hours so that one can go inside hands-free.

Suggestion Box

Students are requested to drop their suggestions into the suggestion box kept at the entrance of the Library regarding Ways to improve the functioning of the library, Textbooks, and Journals which would enhance their academic endeavor and Facilities inside the library.

Community-oriented (Medical)

  • These services are run under the guidance of the institution with a quantum of student volunteers
  • Students are advised to volunteer
  • Students can identify the area which they enjoy the most and volunteer for such service only.
  • A merit certificate (which carries no academic credit) will be awarded to all those who put in a minimum of 200 hours of community service.

  • Volunteering for Environmental Cleanliness awareness campaign.
  • Volunteering for Stop smoking campaign.
  • Volunteering for a Sports medicine clinic.

Community-oriented (NonMedical)

  • Volunteering with an organization to help build homes for individuals and families in need
  • Volunteering with an organization which support food donation efforts and a mission to end hunger
  • Volunteering as a manager or coach for a little league in your community
  • Volunteering through an organization in public education to environmental clean-up
  • Volunteering on an on-going basis to organize to support individuals in-need within your community.
