Library serves as a resource center and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of document’s useful for faculty and students of the institute and provides an efficient dissemination of knowledge. Library intends to incorporate the latest technology and adopt user friendly approach towards students and faculty. Library intends to offer comprehensive services related to dissemination of knowledge.It also has a Digital Library which provides online access to the e-resource of the Digital Library portals of IEEE.

The Smart Campus consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials, article indexing and OPAC. Library aims at serving the academic needs of all students and faculty members.

The Library maintains a separate reference collection consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, atlases, etc. The Reference Section facility is extended to the students, staff and faculty of the Institute. The library also supports the reprography section.

    Rules and Regulations

    Book Borrowing Eligibility

    • Teaching Staff: 8 Books
    • Non-Teaching Staff: 3 Books
    • PG Students: 8 Books
    • UG Students: 6 Books



    Guidelines to the users

    • Bar-coded ID cards can be received from the Library
    • ID cards are not transferable. Members are responsible for the books borrowed on their ID cards
    • ID card has to be produced at the time of borrowing books
    • The books borrowed have to be returned on the last day of the University exam in each semester. Defaulters have to pay the prescribed fine for each book
    • Based on the semester results, Toppers in each department are given one additional book each, which can be utilized till the end of university exam in that semester
    • Loss of ID card should be reported immediately to the Librarian in writing
    • Signing in the Gate Register at the entrance as a token of acceptance to adhere to the rules of the library is mandatory
    • Taking private belongings inside the library is prohibited
    • Strict silence should be observed in the library
    • No marking should be made in the library books
    • Proper dress code applicable to the college should be followed
    • If found guilty, owning responsibility for any damage caused to the books or other property, replacement has to be arranged promptly
    • Misbehavior in the library will lead to cancellation of membership and initiation of serious disciplinary action

    Issue and Return of Books

    • A student is entitled to keep a book for 14 days from the date of issue. For staff members the period of issue is one semester
    • One renewal for a book is allowed provided there are no reservations. For renewal, members must bring the book in person
    • Reference books, Periodicals and copies of University examination question papers will not be lent
    • Members on receiving books shall examine them before leaving the library and report to the librarian, if any damage is noticed
    • The Librarian may recall any book at any time even if the normal period of loan has not expired
    • Absence from the college will not be permitted as an excuse for delay in returning the books

    Overdue Charges

    • For default of return of books on the due date, a fine of Rs.1/- per day and Rs.2/- from third week onwards will be levied
    • If a book is not returned within 28 days from the date of issue, students will not be allowed to attend the class

    Loss of Books

    • Loss of books should be reported to the librarian immediately in writing and the member should either replace it with another good copy or pay twice the cost of the book in addition to overdue charges

    • Members can reserve books and check periodically for their availability
