A BIS Standard Club is an educational initiative of the Bureau of Indian Standards designed to promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and standardization among students by engaging them in activities such as seminars, workshops, industrial visits, awareness programmes, model-making, quizzes, and hands-on projects related to national and international standards. The club aims to help students understand the significance of standards in manufacturing, consumer protection, technology, and everyday life, while also fostering leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Through interactions with BIS officials and exposure to certified industries and testing laboratories, students gain practical knowledge about quality assurance, product certification, and conformity assessment. Establishing a BIS Standard Club also enhances institutional quality initiatives, supports accreditation requirements (NBA/NAAC), strengthens industry–institute collaboration, and encourages students to become ambassadors of quality and informed consumers who contribute to building a safer, more reliable, and standards-driven society.
